Gears of war 2 has just been released and it looks really good so far.

Anyone planning on getting it?

I aint planning on getting it, however, it looks pretty cool =)

I bought it and completed it on casual.
It's a lot easier than the original Gears, but part of that is down to Dom not being as dumb as a sack of hammers (A.I. Dom in Gears had a death rate against RAAM of 177.65%).
I would have gone though on a higher difficulty, but I've been busy playing Fallout 3 and finding more reasons not to bother playing Fable 2.

Every new character dies before the end of the game... Seriously, the only characters you even need to bother to slightly try and like are Marcus, Dom, Baird and Cole (and Jack the stealth door opening robot if you class him as a character).

It does look good but it lacks the unlike GoW nothing special comes from this game , if you played the GoW you be pleased if you not played GoW you most likely wont be as pleased
I played it on a xbox 360 but i won't be getting an xbox 360 or that game any time soon , instead i be playing resistance 2

You can't really compare Resistance 2 to Gears of War 2 as they are both different games from different genres.
Resistance is an FPS in the same vein as Halo, while Gears is a 3rd person squad based shooter.

Gears of War 2 is pretty much Gears of War minus the Kryl (odd since you're in the Locust hive), which isn't a bad thing, but there's little reason to go back through after completing it once other than for the multi-player modes.

Having not yet played Resistance: Fall of Man, I only have Resistance 2 to go on, but it's main 360 competitor is Halo 3, which isn't as good looking, which comes with all that crap back story and which is pretending to be a whole new game series despite basically being Marathon with a few new bits tacked on.

Still Gow 2 and Gow like you said is pretty much the same , still a good game

Halo 3 isn't as good looking as Resistance 2.
In fact, Halo 3 is a poor example of the 360's graphics potential as pretty much every Unreal Engine 3 \ 3.5 powered game will run well on the 360 with better graphics (though UE3 does have draw distance issues).
Gears of War and Gears of War 2 are better examples of what the 360 is capable of, which might be why there's so many 360 games built on the same engine (Epics Unreal Engine).

True Gow 2 is very good looking one of the xbox best looking games i say, your right about the unreal engine 3.5 quite a load of new games are build on that i know there which use mods of it
